THE FLAPPER – The two supporting bars are allowed to rotate freely through 360 degrees, but hang down due to gravity and pass right through the central column. The flat plates are fixed to the bars at 90 degrees to each other, They move from vertical to horizontal in the wind or water flow and at the same time transfer the energy to the central column to make it rotate. This therefore is the basic concept. Experimentation would demonstrate this unique concept. Designed when I lived in Harrogate more than 14 years ago I have decided to release the idea due to the renewed interest in Green Power in 2009. The main principle is that the two supporting bars pass through the central column rather than being connected to it. I am really pleased anyone interested in tidal energy or wind energy concepts may show an interest in this idea. Variations of the design could be stacked, supported in a frame, clockwise or anticlockwise rotation, flaps flip up with flotation in water, huge blades -simple build, MW capacity. River flows or tidal flow energy could be captured with flow from any direction. Four, six or more flaps possible. At least four flaps are required so the device turns. The blades go round so fast in air that they disappear. The movement can be slowed using a strobe light or in water.

www.greenpowerscience.com This blade design is cut with only a table saw in less than 1/2 of an hour. One person could rough cut 50+ 8 foot turbine blades in one day. GREENPOWERSCIENCE.COM This is the Quad Design.

This boat can sail in any direction, including directly into the wind. The wind-rotor drives a propeller under the water. Has been patented. The project was shelved, but has now been revived as an ideal low emission answer to climate change concerns. This boat is now up for sale, contact me for more information. www.sailwings.net/forsale.html …. I am based in Norwich, UK.

Technip has been awarded by StatoilHydro an EPCI contract for the Hywind Project substructure wind turbine which will be located offshore Karmøy, Norway, at 200-300 meter water depth. It will be the world’s first full scale offshore floating wind turbine (FTW). Installation is scheduled for autumn 2009. This 3D animation was made during work on the installation procedures by Itero, for Technip and StatoilHydro.
