EARTH DAY: THE DAY THAT SHOULD BE EVERYDAY!
Posted by admin | Posted in earth day | Posted on 22-04-2010
Here’s a short article I found about Earth Day and my thoughts:

“Forty years after the first Earth Day, the world is in greater peril than ever. While climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents the greatest opportunity – an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy now and for the future.
Earth Day 2010 can be a turning point to advance climate policy, energy efficiency, renewable energy and green jobs. Earth Day Network is galvanizing millions who make personal commitments to sustainability. Earth Day 2010 is a pivotal opportunity for individuals, corporations and governments to join together and create a global green economy. Join the more than one billion people in 190 countries that are taking action for Earth Day.”

My Thoughts:
The world is in greater peril than ever because we only take one day out of the year for the Earth. The fact that “Earth Day” is still around is a sign of little progress. Shouldn’t Earth Day be everyday?
I’m glad people are trying to help out the environment, and I’m not saying you need to go “conservationist crazy”. Many people have listed actions they are going to do to help out:
- turning of the lights and tv when not in use
- recycling
- riding a bike or taking public transportation
- pick up trash
- cutting down on paper
Maybe you should submit one too… And do it!
Here’s mine: I will continue to inform the masses about “Energy for the New Age” and practice what I preach.
Some of the actions seem a little late in undertaking, but late is better then never at all. Right?
